  1. I agree with answer A because it is the governments job to regulate things and create laws. If people arent getting help with their struggles from the government then they feel less obliged to abide to laws and pay taxes. The federal government can address national issues whereas the state governments can solve local problems. This way the government is already set up to help people across the country is technically having people help each other by having them pay taxes to fund the welfare programs.

  2. I agree with statement A because the government is for the people. I do not think that things like welfare and health should be left to the citizens to regulate. This would be less organized because the people don't have a way of dealing with these things, but the government have systems setup for these things. When these things are systematically monitored and guided by the government it would be more orderly and all around better.

  3. I believe it is the role of the government to ensure some of the health and welfare of all citizens. It should be their responsibility to build new hospitals, public schools, and shelters with the tax money they collect. But it should be the role of citizens, private organizations, and charities to help with medical care and other money issues. This way, it would be easier to get help for your personal financial problems because there would be someone who specializes in just helping the citizens with those types of situations.

  4. I believe that it is the role of the government to ensure the health and welfare of our citizens. The government is responsible for providing the needs to the poor. The money we pay the government with taxes should be used to help our country become a safe place and a healthy place. The government also needs to build and create foundations to help the needy and all of the injured/sick people of America. Most of the weight falls on the government but the people of the United States also need to contribute by paying taxes and also creating charities/donating to charities to help everyone.

  5. I agree with both, is is up to all of us to make sure that everyone feels safe and that they are being taken good care of. The government should be the one to take the big steps to make sure that everyone is taken good care of, but they can't really do anything without the resources they need and this is were the citizens and charities help out. Not only by paying taxes, cause sometimes that is not enough we should also have organizations to help out.

  6. I think it is the governments job to ensure these things because their job is to govern us and protect us. They are the ones who need to be our support and help us through rough times, because we can't always count on those who love us most. We pay taxes which provide money for the government to run, and in return they need to provide US with the necessities and the things we need most. They can solve the problems that we as citizens can't do as efficiently as the them.

  7. I agree with statement A because I think it's the government's job and duty to make sure citizens get a good pay and get a safe environment when working. The government is meant to make big decisions for our country in order to do whats best for the citizens and give us the best lives possible. We as citizens elect the government officials to make important decisions and to care for us. Debtors try to get people's vote by telling us how they'll make things better for us. So yes I be verve it's the government's job to care for our well being.

  8. I believe it is the governments job to ensure health and welfare. It is because its the governments job to help us and get us past tough times. If the government didnt help us, the US wouldnt be one of the best places to live. We pay taxes so the government can provide help when needed by american citizens. Also, the government should ensure these things because some americans dont have the money to go to the hospital or afford homes.

  9. I agree that it is the governments job to ensure the health and welfare of its citizens. The citizens deserve this cause they already did there part by voting for government people or whatever. So the government should protect them as long as the citizens don't break laws and stuff like that.

  10. I agree that it is the governments job to ensure the health and welfare of their citizens because it is the governments job to provide their citizens the health and welfare that is needed for them to have a safe and healthy life. If the government doesn't provide the health and welfare that is needed the citizens may resent paying taxes and go against the government. The government needs to ensure these things are provided because some Americans don't have the money to get a home or even go to the hospital. Also citizens will be able to talk to the government so that the government can improve and make the changes that are needed to make their environment better to the citizens.

  11. I believe that it is both the governments job and the citizens, private organizations, and charities to ensure the welfare of the citizens. It takes both because the government cant get to everybody that is in need and is in a bad condition but they do help people. Charities and private organizations help many of the citizens in smaller communities. -Connor Kalhorn

  12. I believe it's the governments job to take care of the citizens health. I say this because it's their job to shut down factories that have unsafe working conditions. Also if their product is causing sickness or diseases. That's why I mostly agree with statement A.

  13. I think i agree with choice B. When you have the role of taking care of citizens, you're able to instantly help them. If you are one in need of help, you can reach out to the others in your community and they will. Having to count on the government to take care of problems doesn't take care of everything. Soon, we'd all rush to the govt. for help and become too lazy to take care of our own problems. You have to keep in mind that taking care of all the issues of the citizens is quite a burden. A community is like a family, and they could rely on each other. Help and assistance would be more direct. This might not be a great example, but suppose an immigrant has a child or two. She comes to America though by illegal standards. Of course peolple could provide food, shelter, and overall guidance on what to go. If found by the government, the immigrant would deported put of the U.S. despite how much of a struggle they might've undergone. Plus, if we relied on ourselves and each other, we'd develop a sense of responsiblity and genuine care for the welfare of others. :3

  14. I agree with statement A. Our government should be responsible for the health and welfare of all the citizens it governs because, as mentioned above, we are required to pay taxes for such services. However, I feel each tax paying citizen has an obligation to ensure that services like health and welfare are put at the top of the governments agenda. This way the government doesn't focus their concerns with different interests.

  15. I think that it is the government's job to ensure the health and welfare of its citizens. The government is supposed to regulate things and make laws. It is their job to keep its citizens healthy and safe by enforcing those laws and regulations. People pay taxes so that the government can use the money to help our country by doing things like building schools, improving infrastructure, and regulating food safety. People should help by donating and participating in charities, because the government can't solve every single problem/issue, but I think it is mainly the government's job to make sure everyone is taken care of.

  16. I agree with Statement A over B because the Government has the most power and resources to get things done. Private organizations and individuals can only go so far, but the entire government can pass laws and fund projects that benefit citizens.

  17. I believe that it is the role of citizens, private organizations, and charities to ensure the health and welfare of all citizens. As a country, the US should encourage it's citizens to take social issues into their own hands and do what they believe needs to be done. If you were to see someone sick on the street, would you leave and let them wait to receive help from some unseen government official? No - you would help them. It is a responsibility placed on you as a human being to help ensure the health and welfare of others around you. And if you go above and beyond what is expected of you, creating organizations and charities, you could reach more people with the things that they need, and therefore better your community in more ways then one. - Elisabeth Jackson

    1. Wow, you are an early riser! One question in response, how does the government "encourage it's citizens to take social issues into their own hands?"

    2. The government can encourage their citizens to take social issues into their own hands by not over legislating on all the laws and issues that tell you the right way to do something. They can also encourage this by providing incentives in the tax system to encourage them to start new organizations, charities and businesses. Elective leaders can also have encourage citizens to get involved through their discussions or campaigns.

  18. I believe it is the role of both government and citizens role to support those less fortunate. The government was created for the part of organization. It is a foundation that is meant to bring order and support. However to blame it for all the bad in our society is insulting to not awknowledge the good it brings. Society will only be able to further the good doing of our government is to further the good of our citizens. At it's core we all have part to play, allowed and easier due to the government, to progress the good of our society!

  19. I agree with parts from both A and B. It is the governments job, because they have powerful resources. The government can create laws, and have authority over the people. But, sometimes they don't do what is right for the community. I think it's our job, because we can come together and make a powerful unit to support one another. But, sometimes the government or the community needs each other's help.

  20. I believe that it is both the governments responsibility as well as other citizens and private organizations. To sum it up I think the government should help with these kinds of things but other people should try to help out those less fortunate as much as possible. Being a good Samaritan just as a general rule or principal is a good idea because you never know when it can help or when it can come back to bite you. -Max Klanderud

  21. I agree with A because I think that it is the responsibility of the government to help its citizens and make sure that there is not mass sickness and many people in poverty. its their responsibility to keep his citizens with fare wages and good working conditions. But I also agree with B because I think that private organizations and charity's to take care of other citizens of its country.
